LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Official Inauguration of Walney Offshore Wind Farm
LCG, February 9, 2012--The United Kingdom Energy Secretary today led the official opening of the Walney Offshore Wind Farm, a 367.2-MW mega-project located approximately 9 miles off the coast of Cumbria. The $1.9 billion project is a joint venture between DONG Energy, SSE and OPW, and it includes 102, 3.6-MW turbines provided by Siemens.
CEO of DONG Energy stated, "Walney is a landmark in offshore wind and DONG Energy?s strong drive to further industrialize offshore wind power and cut costs. It demonstrates our commitment to invest in the UK."
The project was completed in two phases (Walney 1 and 2),each including 51 turbines. The rotor diameter of the turbines is 107m for Walney 1 and 120m for Walney 2, with a maximum height of 150m from blade tip to sea level. The total area of the development is some 73 square kilometers. Walney 2 was completed in November of last year.
