LCG, July 24, 2025--The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced the next steps in the Trump administration’s plan to accelerate the development of AI infrastructure by using Federal lands to lower energy costs and help power the global AI race, as previously outlined in President Trump’s Executive Orders on Accelerating Federal Permitting of Data Center Infrastructure, Deploying Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies for National Security, and Unleashing American Energy.

LCG, July 22, 2025--Enbridge Inc. (Enbridge) today announced that it has reached a final investment decision on the Clear Fork solar project located near San Antonio, Texas. Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta), has signed a long-term contract for all of the renewable power generated from the 600-MW project.

Sempra Dedicates New 92-MW Solar PV Facility
LCG, March 20, 2013--Sempra U.S. Gas & Power dedicated on March 15 the Copper Mountain Solar 2 facility in Boulder City, Nevada. Construction on this first phase of the 1,100-acre, 92-MW solar PV farm began in December 2011. The second phase is scheduled for completion in 2015 and will increase the capacity to 150 MW. Power generated from the facility is purchased by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) under a 25-year contract.
"Our hats off to the leadership in the state of Nevada," said the president and CEO of Sempra U.S. Gas & Power. "This state is a shining example of how a pro-growth business climate continues to attract clean energy investments. Our success here today also reflects the vision and leadership of Pacific Gas & Electric, which stepped forward to procure the output of this facility for the next 25 years."
At the dedication, Sempra also announced the start of construction at Copper Mountain Solar 3, which is scheduled for completion in 2015. In total, Copper Mountain Solar 1, Copper Mountain Solar 2 and Copper Mountain Solar 3 will represent one of the largest solar power complexes in the U.S., capable of generating 458 MW.
The electricity generated from Copper Mountain Solar 1, located on a 450-acre site, is under a 20-year contract with PG&E. The electricity generated from Copper Mountain Solar 3, located on a 1,400-acre site, is under contract with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and the City of Burbank through an agreement with the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA).
