LCG, September 23, 2013--Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), GE Energy Financial Services and ArcLight Capital Partners (ArcLight) announced Friday that they have closed financing for the $842 million CPV Woodbridge Energy Center in New Jersey. Project construction on the 700-MW, natural gas-fired, combined cycle facility is scheduled to commence this quarter, with commercial operation as early as the first quarter of 2016.

The project is owned by CPV, ArcLight and Toyota Tsusho and will be operated by an affiliate of ArcLight. GE is providing financing, technology and services, including a 16-year contractual services agreement (CSA). The CPV Woodbridge Energy Center will convert a former chemical plant site into a power generation facility.

CPV's president stated, "Land reclamation, environmental benefits, strong community acceptance, a powerful economic impact and labor support: This project is what smart energy development looks like in 2013."
