LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

NRG and MidAmerican Complete the 290-MW Agua Caliente Solar PV Project in Arizona
LCG, April 30, 2014-NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG), through its wholly-owned subsidiary NRG Solar, and its partner MidAmerican Solar yesterday announced they have achieved substantial completion of the Agua Caliente Solar Photovoltaic Facility, a 290 MW photovoltaic (PV) facility in Arizona. Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) contracted to receive the power generated by the facility under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

The Agua Caliente Solar Photovoltaic Facility site includes 2,400 acres of land located approximately 65 miles east of Yuma, Arizona. Agua Caliente is one of the first PV plants of this capacity to be connected to a 500kV transmission line. The project was designed and built by First Solar, Inc. using its advanced thin-film cadmium-telluride (CdTe) PV modules. FirstSolar will also operate and maintain the facility for NRG and MidAmerican Solar.
The project received a $967 million loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy?s Loan Programs Office.
