LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

GM Announces Power Purchase Agreements for Renewable Energy from New Wind Farms in Ohio and Illinois
LCG, September 21, 2017--General Motors announced Tuesday long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy from two wind farms with a combined electric generating capacity of 200 MW. The two new PPAs will allow for all of GM's Ohio and Indiana manufacturing facilities to meet their electricity needs with 100 percent renewable energy by the end of 2018. Last September, GM announced last September plans to generate or source all electrical power for its 350 operations in 59 countries with 100 percent renewable energy by 2050.
With the new PPAs, GM will be the sole user of the 100-MW Northwest Ohio Wind farm, which is located on about 12,750 acres. The project is owned by Starwood Energy Group and is scheduled to be completed in 2018. In addition, Swift Current Energy will provide 100 MW from its HillTopper Wind Project in Logan County, Illinois.
GM's global manager of renewable energy stated, "Starwood's Northwest Ohio Wind project is helping us toward our goal of meeting the electricity needs of our global operations with 100 percent renewable energy. The wind farm is ideally located to help meet the electricity needs of our Ohio manufacturing facilities."
